Meet Jacki Leon, A Passionate Advocate for Financial Education and Student Success

That’s why we’re excited to introduce Jacki Leon, who joins us as Manager, Account Executives – West. With over 19 years of experience in higher education and financial services, Jacki brings deep industry knowledge and a strong commitment to helping institutions improve the student financial experience.

Jacki has dedicated her career to empowering students and institutions through financial education and service excellence. Before joining Nelnet Campus Commerce, she served as a Senior Relationship Manager at Flywire, where she partnered with higher education institutions to streamline financial solutions and improve student support.

Beyond financial services, Jacki has extensive experience in higher education administration, having held leadership roles such as Director of Student Business Services at Texas A&M University and Director of the Student Money Management Center at Sam Houston State University. In these roles, she championed financial literacy initiatives, helping students gain the knowledge and tools needed to navigate their educational journeys with confidence.

Jacki’s passion for innovation in student finance has been recognized through prestigious awards, including the NACCU Marketing Excellence Award (2017) and AFCPE Financial Counselor of the Year (2011). These honors reflect her ability to develop impactful programs that drive student success and institutional efficiency.

Jacki’s dedication to helping others extends beyond her professional life. She lives in College Station, TX, with her husband, David, and their three daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and reading, as well as caring for her three pups and backyard chickens.
