Before coming to Nelnet Campus Commerce, what are some of the highlights of your career?

Before coming to Nelnet I was a Sr. Enterprise Account Executive for an Ed-tech company.  I’ve worked in Corporate Learning and Development and Higher Ed in a B2B capacity for 14 years.

What do you enjoy about working in the higher education industry?

There’s always something new and exciting taking place in Higher ed.  It never gets boring.  New trends are always setting in, which keeps me on my toes as a B2B professional.

What interested your in the role of Business Development Executive?

The BDE role gave me an opportunity to do something new and exciting with respect to the product and services that are being sold to our university partners.  It also gave me an opportunity to merge the two worlds I’ve been a part of over the past 14 years with B2B sales and Higher education.

What are you looking forward to most as you start in your new position?

I’m looking forward to working with my new colleagues.  Thus far, everyone has been amazing and so welcoming, so I’m excited to hit the ground running.

What techniques help you stay organized and focused?

I use my calendar to its fullest capacity to help me stay organized, focused, and manage my time; not just for internal and external meetings, but also to schedule tasks and even certain reminders. I also make sure I read all my emails at the top of every morning.

Is there something new you’d like to learn this year, and why?

Honestly, I want to completely immerse myself into the NCC product suite and gain mastery-level knowledge of the entire product line.

Share with us a valuable piece of advice that someone has given you.

Preparation is key, and outwork everyone.

What’s the most memorable vacation you’ve ever taken?

I surprised my wife last year for her 40th birthday and took her to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and we stayed at an adult only all-inclusive resort, and we had the time of our lives!!!  As a family, I would have to say our most memorable vacation was New York.  Time Square was unreal.

Outside of work, do you have any activities or hobbies that you enjoy?

I typically coach my younger son’s basketball and football team.  We’re a huge sports family so that takes a lot of time.  When we have a free weekend, we always go on family outings, and we like to try new things. We also love to eat, so we try different restaurants very often.
